not all SS is made equal...

Not all stainless steel is created equal. Many imitations use inferior grades that corrode/rust and retain odours. Barely There Litter uses genuine 304 Stainless Steel.

faq's

What does ‘seconds’ mean?

A seconds box is a returned Barely There litter box offered at a reduced price. It is made from the same 304 stainless steel as our full-price range, but its cosmetic condition may vary.

What condition will my box arrive in?

It may show minor scratches, dents or cosmetic marks — or it may look nearly perfect. Every item is different, so check the product photos and description for the condition of the box you’re choosing.

Why was it returned?

These boxes were returned because the size or shape didn’t suit the original customer’s space. Measure your available area and compare it with the dimensions in the listing before ordering.

How long will a stainless steel litter box last?

With proper care, a quality stainless steel litter box can last for 10 years or more. That means fewer plastic boxes going to landfill and no replacing a smelly, scratched tray every year. It’s designed to be your cat’s forever litter box.

Do I need to use a litter liner?

Nope. The smooth stainless steel surface is easy to scoop, rinse and wipe clean, so liners aren’t necessary. That means one less ongoing expense and a lot less plastic waste.

What type of litter can I use?

Our standard litter boxes work with most common cat litters, including clumping, crystal, paper and pellet varieties. If you prefer quicker clean-up, choose the sieve made for your litter: our clumping-litter sieve separates clean litter from clumps, while our wood-pellet sieve lets used pellets break down into sawdust and fall into the lower tray. Always check the individual product page to make sure you’re choosing the right setup.

How do I clean my litter box?

Scoop daily to keep things fresh. For a deeper clean, empty the litter, rinse the box with warm water, wash it with a mild pet-safe detergent and a soft cloth or sponge, then rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before adding fresh litter. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, steel wool and abrasive scrubbers, as these can damage the surface.

Are the litter boxes scratch-proof?

Our premium stainless steel is highly scratch-resistant and won’t develop the deep, bacteria-trapping grooves commonly found in plastic litter boxes. Like any surface, abrasive cleaning tools may leave cosmetic marks, so we recommend using a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge.

Which litter box is right for my cat?

Every cat has their own toilet preferences—because of course they do. When choosing a box, consider your cat’s size, mobility, digging habits and whether they prefer an open or enclosed space. You can take our online quiz or chat with us before ordering, and we’ll happily point you in the right direction.

Which box is best for a large cat or multi-cat household?

Our XXL litter boxes are designed for larger breeds, including Maine Coons and Ragdolls, as well as homes with more than one cat. They provide extra room to turn, dig and get comfortable without feeling crowded.

Do you have a litter box for senior cats or cats with limited mobility?

Yes. Our Low Entry Round Litter Box offers easier access for senior cats, smaller cats and cats who find high sides difficult to step over.

What is included with my litter box?

Inclusions vary between styles. Depending on the model, your box may include a stainless steel scooper, high-wall lid, paw-cleaning step, litter-trapping mat or sieve trays. Please check the “What’s Included” section on the product page before ordering.

What if my cat needs time to adjust?

Some cats hop straight in. Others like to inspect anything new as though it may be a trap. Place the new box in your cat’s usual litter area and use the same litter they already know. If needed, leave the old and new boxes side by side for a few days while they adjust. Keeping the new box clean and easy to access can also help.
