I purchased this litter tray to reduce odours with my 2 cats, and it has worked! I will never go back to a plastic litter tray. Easy to keep clean, and a great size for 2 cats, and I can still use my wood pellet litter. Will be buying a second one next!
Brilliant tray. Very hygienic and I can see it lasting many many years. Love the huge size. Large enough that our cats are happy to use it multiple times in different areas overnight and while we're out at work without any fuss.
I pre-ordered my Barely There litter box and was told it would be ready at the start of August, and I’m so happy to say it arrived right on time! The delivery was super quick and everything was so easy.
Unfortunately, my litter box was missing the scoop, but their customer service was absolutely amazing. I contacted them and they sent one out to me straight away. They were so reliable, helpful and quick to sort it out. ❤️
As for the litter box itself… I LOVE it! 🐱 It’s so spacious and the perfect fit for my cat. She has plenty of room and it looks great too.
I’m honestly so happy with my purchase and the service I received. I would definitely recommend Barely There to other cat owners.
Definitely purrfect for my cat! 🐾💕
The XL is really XL which is great for my two cats. The round shapes means you dont get clumps in corners. It's high walled too, which is handy as I have a male cat who tends to spray sideways a bit. Love it. Easy to clean
I've never spent so much on a pet product before, especially something so very bougie:) but I was fed up with stinky plastic trays. This stainless litter box is perfect for our 2 domestic long haired cats. Our big boy Loki loves it & has a ball, our smaller girl Theia is a rescue with anxiety and taking a bit longer to adapt. So much less litter trail with the high edge, it's massive & quite heavy so be sure of where you decide place it.
My three kitties are 11 years old and are very fussy when it comes to their litter boxes. Since I unpacked this stainless steel one they much prefer it than any of the plastic ones. The plastic ones are hardly used, so I will have to switch them out.
Although it is beautiful and easy to clean, my large boy cat has decided he likes to pee over the top. (He’s 12 and was desexed as a kitten). I have another Barely There (square and partly covered which works a bit better. The other 2 were ok with it.
Hi Kerry, thank you for your feedback. We're excited to share that a 45cm tall version of the round litter box will be released soon, perfect for high sprayers. Hopefully, this will work better for your big boy!
Nice quality! Happy with my purchase.
Looks great, absolutely love it! It’s like the penthouse of litter trays!
Cats love this litter tray. The rubber carpet catches the fly away litter grains effectively. Easy to clean. Worth the price.
The XXL is truly the best size for multiple cats. Both of mine love it and there’s plenty of room, it’s easy to clean, looks great and I love the light grey colour.
Received yesterday. Good quality and I am happy with purchase. Its huge but thats ok. The scoop is good as well. My cat is indoor and I have 2 litter boxes In plastic. I scoop and clean boxes regularly so Im a pro at this. I couldn’t resist the stainless steel asthetics. My biggest concern has been during hot humid summer months as thats when the smell could be rank even with regular cleaning and scooping daily. Mind you my 17 yr old girl with kidney disease would wee alot ( shes at rest now). Im happy allround.
Love this giant litter box! It is very spacious for our two cats. We used to have a large plastic tray (60x40cm), which was great for size but trapped smells and got stained and scratched so much that I had to replace it yearly. I had been looking for a stainless steel option with high walls that was one piece, rather than having a clip on wall section, which is terrible to clean with high peeing cats. This fits the bill nicely.
I love how this steel tray is easy to scoop because nothing seems to stick to the bottom too much. The high walls are also good for enthusiastic diggers who like to toss their litter into the air! Not as much litter escapes.
Having such a large area to cover with litter means we use heaps more litter than we used to, to fill up and keep it to a height where they don’t scratch bare patches, then pee directly on steel. I haven’t had the tray long enough to have to do a complete clean out, but I imagine I will be throwing away more used litter then too. Just something to keep in mind.
The scoop is great, but absolutely giant, so I find it a bit tricky scooping litter waste into a little waste bag.
Overall very happy with the purchase.
I’ve given it a 4 star based on the model I bought. I really should’ve bought the XXL size for them, they don’t like this one.
The XXL litter box is a game charger in our house, i have five cats, three are ragdolls and are very fussy when it come to their toilet behaviour. I was so sick of the smell from the previous plastic litter boxes. Since installing the XXL stainless steel litter box in the laundry and a smaller version on our ensuite, we no longer have any smell and the cats are so much happier, i swear by these boxes and highly recommend them, plus they look very stylish! Thank you for silencing my whinging husband and restoring a nice balance in our house again.
This litter box is a perfect size for my pusscat who loves to scratch and throw the litter around.
I find the stainless steel box easy to clean and maintain freshness.
This litter box has been fantastic in our small apartment. There is no smell and maintenance is really easy.
Such a good litter box! Very easy to clean and the cat loves it!
It has a "Made in Germany" feel. Very robust, made to last. Good long-term investment. Highly recommended.
Purchased this litterbox to use with wood pine pellets. I have never used the sifting function. My 4kg ragdoll won't use it when the plastic is clipped on top because she doesn’t fit inside so would just go on the floor beside it. I've had to completely remove the plastic clip for this reason. The only part I use of this litter box now is 1 metal tray and the scoop. Wish I got the larger one without the sifting function
Hi Jess, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry this size wasn’t suitable for your Ragdoll and that you haven’t been able to use the full setup as intended. Normally this size suits cats up to 7kg. Some cats do prefer the extra space and they may not enjoy the curved lid, which is to stop the high peeing cats.
This particular sieve is designed for clumping litter rather than wood pine pellets. We do also offer a slide-out sieve litter box that was designed specifically for wood pellets, which may have been a better match for your preferred litter.
We completely understand your disappointment that the overall setup hasn’t worked for your cat. Please contact us at hello@barelytherelitter.com.au so we can review your order and see how we may be able to help with a more suitable option.
I don't like the grey .. I bought it for the functionality. I didn't pick the black because of its known toxity. You end up scooping as usual, because it's impractical to be constantly sieving the big tray. In order to do so you have to unclip the plastic top and have space around it enough to pick up the top sieve and tip it into something without making a mess .. if I could I'd return it and get the circular one .. at least it looks good.
Hi Catherine, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re sorry the design and grey colour haven’t met your expectations.
For clarity, both our grey and black lids are made from the same virgin ABS formulation using compliant pigments. The black version is not made from recycled electronic plastics and is not considered more toxic than the grey option.
The sieve is designed as an optional way to separate and retain clean clumping litter during a more thorough litter change, rather than something that needs to be used for every daily clean. We understand, however, that lifting the sieve requires some surrounding space and may not suit every household or cleaning routine.
Please contact us at hello@barelytherelitter.com.au with your order details so we can review your situation and discuss whether the round litter box may be a more suitable addition to your set up.
